Photomedia

Photomedia is the future of image creation and visual storytelling. It is also the heart and soul of Design. At Swinburne, Bachelor of Design Photomedia Major students gain exposure to various technological approaches and media platforms that highlight the intersections between photography and design, art direction, digital video, exhibition and event design or installation. Students develop the conceptual and technical skills in storytelling that are required to create sophisticated campaigns, publications and digital products.

Photomedia has allowed me to explore design from a different perspective. It has taught me how to tell a story visually and expand on that narrative through my outcomes. Studying Photomedia has helped to strengthen my skills in lighting and composition when I have a camera in hand, and design thinking, problem solving and image manipulation when I don’t.

We respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, who are the Traditional Owners of the land on which Swinburne’s Australian campuses are located in Melbourne’s east and outer-east, and pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.

We are honoured to recognise our connection to Wurundjeri Country, history, culture and spirituality through these locations, and strive to ensure that we operate in a manner that respects and honours the Elders and Ancestors of these lands.

We also acknowledge and respect the Traditional Owners of lands across Australia, their Elders, Ancestors, cultures and heritage.
